Nursery Health Assembly
On Friday 18 November 2011, our nursery parents joined us for a talk and demonstration of good hygiene for their children. The children had a wonderful time looking at pictures and doing practical demonstrations of good hygiene.
Well done to all our wonderful teachers, parents and pupils!

Inter-House Sports 2011
On Saturday 12 November 2011, our pupils took to the field for our annual Inter-House Sports. From the lively nursery Rain Boot Races, to the exciting 4x100m relays and all the wonderful events of the day, everyone had a fantastic time. Our parents then challenged the teachers to a Shuttle Relay and I am pleased to say that our teachers won in style. Well done to all Mommys and Daddys who took part and came to support their children on our 30th Year Celebration of the Childville School at Inter House Sports.
The results were as follows:

3rd Position – Alatede House (Red)

Teacher’s Day : 5 October 2011
On Wednesday the 5th of October, The Childville School was abuzz with pupils wishing all our fantastic and dedicated staff a “Happy Teacher’s Day”. An assembly was called for the entire school where we honoured some of our staff for outstanding work in specific areas namely:

Independence Day Celebrations 2011
On the 30th of September at 11am The Childville School celebrated Nigeria’s 51st Independence Birthday. Some of our pupils recounted the history of Nigeria’s road to independence in front of the whole school and attending parents. The selection of our kings and queens of Independence Day followed this. We finished off with some fun as we danced to the beat of Nigeria’s local artists.

World Literacy Day
On the 9th of September 2011, The Childville School celebrated World Literacy Day by reading together in our Friday assembly. Each Year Group took a turn in reading a set piece together to remember the importance of reading in our everyday lives.

Prize Giving at Ogudu, 13 July 2011
Our Ogudu branch was filled with the sounds of recorders, violins and voices as our children took to the stage to entertain the parents at our annual prize giving. With renditions of We are the World by the Primary School and Lean on Me by the Secondary School, the house rocked as parents sang their hearts out with our talented children. The prizewinners were met with thunderous applause as they came up to celebrate excellence in all that they did. Well done to all of you!

Prize Giving at Yaba, 2011
It was a bittersweet occasion as we had our last prize giving at our Yaba branch before we move all our children to our Ogudu branch. The pupils, however, displayed phenomenal character in all the awards they earned and fantastic performances by the choir and Nursery Section. The parents who came to watch their children applauded loudly as pupil after pupil came up to celebrate excellence. Well done to all the prizewinners!

Nursery 2 Trip to the Zoo
On the 20th May 2011 our Nursery children from Nursery 2 left for the Mini Zoo and Garden at Anthony Village.
The pupils were shown some animals such as baboons, tortoises, turtles, guinea pigs, rabbits, ducks, geese, parrots and crocodiles. The pupils also saw some fish in the aquarium after which they were taken round to be shown different flowers in the garden. The instructor took them around ensuring that they were learning as they went.
They finished off their visit with some fun playing in the gardens on the slides!

Easter Concert Yaba
Our Easter Concert was held at our Yaba branch on Thursday 31 March 2011. The parents were entertained by both our School Choir who presented fantastic renditions of popular hymns. Our Nursery pupils took to the stage to present the Easter Story while the concert was brought together by a great sermon by our resident pastor.

Easter Concert Ogudu
Our Easter Concert was held at our Ogudu branch on Friday 1 April 2011. The parents were entertained by both our Junior and Senior School Choirs who presented fantastic renditions of popular hymns.
Our Senior School pupils joined the Junior School Choir on violin and then presented a duet on Saxophone as the sound of “Igwe” filled the air. The concert was brought together with a wonderful sermon by Pastor Staveley.

Successful Childville Pupils
One of our past Head Boys, Yemi Gafaar has just been accepted to study Mechanical Engineering at Oxford University. His grounding at our wonderful school has certainly served him well on his road to success and we congratulate him and his family on this phenomenal achievement.
Yemi is currently a student at Concord College in the UK.

Christmas Concert 2010
We held our Christmas Concert at our Yaba branch on the 7th of December and at our Ogudu branch on the 8th of December 2010. The pupils entertained the parents with recitals by the orchestra, joyful songs by the choir and of course excellent acting in all the playlets. The parents sang along as spirits soared with awesome renditions of classic Christmas Carols as well as local favourites. Merry Christmas everybody and a Happy New Year!

9 and Under Soccer Competition
On Saturday 20 November 2010, 10 schools arrived at The Childville School in Ogudu to play against each other in the AISEN 9 and Under Soccer Competition.
Each team played a total of four matches lasting 10 minutes each, except for three of the teams who left early.
After a long day and many hard fought battles on the pitch, the results were as follows:

- The Childville School, Ogudu
- Saint Saviours School, Ikoyi
We look forward to our semi-final match against Saint saviours, Ikoyi next year. Well played team!

Whole School Spelling Bee
On the 15th of November 2010 our pupils participated in our Second Whole School Spelling Bee. The words became increasingly more difficult as the morning went on and eventually we were left with three pupils standing. They are Festus Owumi, Adura Olawuyi and Olawuyi Tumilara who will now move on to represent The Childville School at The National Spelling Bee next year. Good luck!

Prefect’s Induction
Our school prefects were inducted on Monday Friday 5 November 2010 at Ogudu. Each prefect received a pledge and a badge and promised to serve the school with excellence and integrity. All the parents of the prefects attended the ceremony and proudly pinned the badges on their children as we celebrated excellence in leadership together. The prefects’ names are as follows:

Inter-House Sports 2010
Our 11th Inter House Sports took place on Saturday 23 October 2010 at the Childville School Ogudu. Parents and pupils alike enjoyed the day as the athletes took the track to engage in the battle to win their particular race. Every single pupil put in a wonderful performance on the day, from the Nursery classes to the Year Nines in the Secondary School. Everything from the bouncing balls in the Hop-Up Race and the Sprints to the Sack Race Shuttle Relay and the High Jump made all the spectators jump to their feet in applause and excitement.
At the end of the day many celebrated with Gold, Silver or Bronze medals while others enjoyed the satisfaction in knowing that they had given of their best.
